This is a silver drachm coin of Alexander III (The Great) King of Macedonia (336 - 323 B.C.). The front of the coin shows the head of Hercules wearing a lion skin, the other side shows Zeus enthroned holding an eagle and scepter. Zeus, the father of the gods in ancient Greece is the god of sky and thunder. Zeus shared the world with his elder brothers, Poseidon and Hades, by drawing lots: Zeus got the sky and air, Poseidon the waters, and Hades the world of the dead (the underworld). A beautiful coin of one of the most historical figures in recorded history.

Our jeweler has framed this coin in 14kt yellow gold, it will arrive on your choice of necklace along with a descriptive brochure and Certificate of Authenticity.
