A beautiful example of a Roman chariot coin. A silver denarius issued in 81-82 B.C. under Julius Bursio , it features an almost perfect image of a four horse chariot known as a "quadriga", driven by Victory holding a palm branch. The other side of the coin, whose image is rotated to the front has the bust of Apollo. The denomination of the coin is a denarius which was approximately one day's pay for a soldier. Our jeweler has set the coin in a handcrafted frame of sterling silver
