Byzantine Gold Coin Pendant with Ruby Accent
This authentic Byzantine gold coin was minted in Constantinople under the leader Heraclius (610-641 A.D.). Heraclius ranks among the great Roman emperors. His reforms of the government reduced corruption and he reorganized the military with great success. Some historians start the "Byzantine" Empire with the reign of Heraclius. The front of the coin features Heraclius, while the reverse shows the cross on the steps, representing the cross of Calvary.
The piece is done in solid 14kt gold, including the integrated 18 inch chain. We have adorned the pendant with a 1.60 carat pear shaped ruby. This is a truly remarkable one-of-a-kind custom made pendant. Piece includes a descriptive brochure and Certificate of Authenticity.
