First discovered in Namibia, Africa in 1836, the Gibeon meteorites come from broken asteroid fragments. Dating studies have placed their age at around 4 billion years old. Our matched pair of meteorites weigh 27 carats. They have the distinctive pattern of nickel-iron crystals that only form over millions of years of slow cooling, a proof of extraterrestrial orgin.
